University of Ballarat Post Office Gallery

Cnr Lydiard Street North & Sturt Street, Ballarat

Wander through the colourful exhibition in Victoria’s largest regional Post Office Building which was built in 1864, in the Italianate palazzo style. In 1871 a telegraph office and treasury were added to the Lydiard Street frontage. The clock tower and carriageway entrance were added in 1885.

The old post office building is now an art school - the University of Ballarat Arts Academy.

‘Peter Clark – My Art, My Life My Colours Exhibition’ will be on show during the Ballarat Heritage Weekend. The bright and colourful work by local artist Peter Clark reflects his life, experiences and Aboriginality.
