Enjoy High Tea in Ballarat
Treat your mum to the delicious tradition of High Tea this Mother’s Day weekend.
Ballarat’s Craig’s Royal Hotel can help you celebrate the special day with all the pomp and ceremony that’s usually reserved for the Queen.
High Tea is a dainty social event inherited from England, that’s a favourite with mothers.
Craig’s Royal Hotel, one of the oldest hotels in Australia, will serve a special High Tea during the Mother’s Day weekend. Visitors will be treated to a glass of champagne on arrival and be given a short tour of the recently refurbished grand old hotel. High Tea will then be served with all the nostalgia of yesteryear.
The Hotel’s executive chef, Frenchman Philippe Desrettes, will prepare fresh French-style petite fours, quiche, sandwiches and scones. This will be served with a variety of teas, including English Breakfast and Earl Grey. Or, depending on the mother, a gin and tonic with a small slice of lemon might be more in order!
