As part of Ballarat Heritage Weekend, join renowned Ballarat chef Peter Ford for a skillfully curated menu of food and wine.

The evening will begin with a preview of Ballarat’s newest gallery – the National Centre for Photography (home of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale) followed by a dinner at The AnsoniA.

Ballarat Heritage Weekend presents MILK BAR & CO. - Housey Housey

Partnering with Sugar Republic, The Forge, Vegas and Rose, So Soft Marshmallows and Hattie and the Wolf, Housey Housey will be transformed into a retro milk bar as part of Ballarat Heritage Weekend, as kids young and the young at heart will immerse themselves into a re-imagined Aussie milk bar!
The original Milk Bar installation was created by Sugar Republic in collaboration with Melbourne artists Callum Preston and Eamon Donnelly. Sugar Republic is a pop up sweets museum and house of fun, which has had major successes in its pop ups in Collingwood, and Myer Melbourne.

Time: 10am – 4pm (1 hr bookings)

Cost: Gold coin entry donation to Feed Ballarat, bookings are essential.

Ballarat Heritage Weekend presents The Tea Trolley - The Canberra Hotel

Enjoy freshly brewed leaf tea or coffee served in vintage retro china. Select a  piece of delightful home baked cake or slice from the auto trolley as its wheeled past. The cakes are made to old family recipes and are just like your grandmother baked!

Cinnamon Tea Cake, Passionfruit Sponge, Ginger Fluff, Jelly Cakes, Jelly Slice, Lemon Slice to name a few! Devonshire tea will also be available. (GF available) Bookings essential.

Coffee Exchange by Mr Black - Ballarat Heritage Weekend

For one night only, you will sample carefully crafted cocktails from some of Ballarat’s best venues. Combining two of our favourite things, coffee & cocktails, brought to you by Mr Black cold brewed coffee liquor as part of Ballarat Heritage Weekend. Featuring unique concoctions from The Lost Ones, Workshop Cafe, Moon & Mountain, Mitchell Harris, Kittelty’s, Cafe Sidra, Healthy Hub, Freight Bar, Canberra Hotel & Websters, plus something a little colder from Il Piccolo Gelato, this is an opportunity like no other. Take some old favourites, add plenty of imagination, and get your taste buds ready to be blown away.

Complimenting the cocktails will be Charlotte Smith and her incredible collection of vintage fashion and an engaging performance from Sydney magician Adam Mada. Thing James Bond, think cocktails, think classy – it’s a night you do not want to miss.

MELBA inspired High Tea at Craig's Royal Hotel

Reputed to have “sung” from Craig’s balcony and visiting Ballarat and Craig’s in her early career, today we are celebrating Dame Nellie Melba’s birthday which is on 19th May.

Craig’s has prepared some afternoon tea which are inspired by the chef Auguste Escoffier who created these dishes in honour of the great Australian.

Time: 1pm & 4pm daily
